What We Learned at the DEO Revenue Intensive 2026 in Dallas: 3 CE Compliance Takeaways for Practice Owners and DSO Leaders

The CE Zoom team loved being at the Dental Entrepreneur Organization's DEO Revenue Intensive 2026, held October 8–10 at the Gaylord Texan Resort near Dallas! We met so many great practice owners, dentists, and DSO leaders, and enjoyed hearing about the challenges they're working through as their organizations grow. DEO is always one of our favorite events, and we look forward to the chance to connect in person.

One concern stood out in our conversations at DEO: practice owners are having a hard time knowing whether their employees are meeting their dental license renewal and continuing education (CE) requirements. Many leave that responsibility with each employee, without a clear way to see where the entire team stands.

Those conversations brought a few practical takeaways into focus.

1. Practice owners need visibility into employee CE compliance

An employee may be responsible for maintaining their license, but practice owners still need to know whether their team is ready for renewal.

When CE records live in separate accounts, spreadsheets, or individual employees' files, getting a clear answer takes time. Across multiple locations, it becomes even harder to see who has completed their requirements and who still has work to do.

CE Zoom gives owners and DSO leadership teams a way to track employee CE compliance across their entire organization, so they can see where attention is needed before a renewal deadline arrives.

2. Having enough CE credits is only part of the picture

State-specific CE requirements matter. A clinician may have completed plenty of CE hours and still be missing a required topic or course.

For DSOs and group practices with employees licensed in different states, that adds another layer to manage. Each person's progress needs to be evaluated against the requirements that apply to their license.

CE Zoom brings state-specific dental CE tracking and the courses employees need into one platform. Owners can see compliance gaps, and employees can find courses to complete those requirements.

3. CE tracking and CE courses should work together

Knowing someone is missing a requirement is useful. Having a clear way to help them complete it makes that information actionable.

CE Zoom offers the state-specific CE courses dental professionals need to stay on track, while giving leadership visibility into compliance across the organization. Practice owners can monitor progress and help their teams access the education they need, all in the same platform.

For a growing practice or DSO, this creates a more consistent way to manage continuing education across employees and locations.
